DIY: We Made a Fashionista Tee At the Topshop Bus Stop and Now So Can You Posted: 26 Jun 2010 07:30 AM PDT Last Spring, a tricked-out Topshop truck showered the city with gift cards and tote bags in anticipation of the store’s opening. Since this Wednesday, the same truck has been on a promotional tour around the city. We wanted to see what all the fuss was about, so we decided to, quite literally, get our hands dirty and head over to McCarren Park in Billyburg for Day 3. What we found was a full-on t-shirt customization workshop, so we grabbed a free tee, and with some help and inspiration from a few well-dressed Topshop employees, gave it a full-on Fashionista makeover. While ours was certainly not the most intricate or detailed, it was pretty easy to make and we are proud of it, so here are some step-by-step instructions in case you want to make your own! What to do: See below for more pics! They also handed us a little key that, when taken to the store, may or may not “unlock” a “wardrobe” of $250 worth of Topshop summer dresses. (Isn’t that like 2 dresses?) If you didn’t make it to Brooklyn yesterday, fear not. Day 4 promises even more summer fun and little raffle-keys. Head to the SoHo flagship today for their “Pop Up Summer,” replete with a faux beach and frozen lemonade. Happy summer! |
