Report: Kate Middleton’s Dress Designer Revealed Posted: 18 Apr 2011 06:37 AM PDT Another day closer to the royal wedding, and yet another designer’s name is floated as the designer of Kate Middleton’s all-important wedding dress. We’ve heard Sarah Burton for McQueen, Bruce Oldfield (a favorite of Princess Diana) and the latest name to be mentioned in contention for the prized commission is Jasper Conran. And now, a new name to add to the mix: Sophie Cranston, designer of the Libélula label. Yvonne York, Huffington Post’s royal’s correspondent, is reporting that Sophie Cranston has designed Kate Middleton’s wedding dress. Middleton famously wore a vintage-inspired black velvet coat by Libélula to a wedding this past January. So why haven’t we heard Cranston’s name until now? Alexis Bittar Lands in San Francisco Posted: 17 Apr 2011 03:29 PM PDT It may be a small space, but it packs a lot of punch. Alexis Bittar is officially open for business in San Francisco, and the launch party Saturday night had people spilling onto the foggy sidewalks of Fillmore. The store stands out like a gem, with walls painted by artist Marcela D’Aprile, Bittar’s ongoing taxidermy animal fixtures, and the requisite ewelry collection. When asked what took the designer so long to open an SF store, Alexis answered, "We came kinda gangbusters. We did four stores at once; one in San Francisco, two in LA, and Chicago. I think the location is absolutely perfect. We scouted in June and it’s changed even since then. More stores have opened." When I pointed out that Kiehls is relocating their upper Fillmore store to right across the street, Alexis cooed, "Oh, I love that." Posted: 17 Apr 2011 03:07 PM PDT It’s hot in Southern California this weekend, which means the Coachella music festival is populated with plenty of pretty skirts and the shortest vintage cut-offs around.
