Posted: 11 Mar 2011 02:30 PM PST This week's image comes from Swedish blogger Caroline of Carolines Mode. In addition to posting photographs of her own chic outfits (and enviably impeccable hair), Caroline uploads photographs of the international fashion crowd and keeps her readers up to date on her recent clothing acquisitions, style inspiration and potential purchases. One of my favorite Scandinavian bloggers, she’s a great source of behind-the-scenes images. Lake Bell Wants Lyn Devon to be the Next GO International Designer Posted: 11 Mar 2011 01:48 PM PST We queued up to chat with Lake Bell last night at Target’s GO International celebration because we thought she was HILAR in No Strings Attached. (A seriously good movie, despite what the guy on TaxiTV says.) We also wanted to grill the actress on her personal style, because unlike many of her peers, she actually has some. Best Dressed Paris Fashion Week: Alexa in Valentino, Hailee in Miu Miu, Florence in Chanel and More Posted: 11 Mar 2011 01:30 PM PST Paris Fashion Week is always a wonderland for front row style. Alexa Chung scored again in Valentino, Florence Welch killed it in Chanel, Hailee Steinfeld wowed in Miu Miu, and Natalie Vodianova looked effortless in Stella McCartney. Posted: 11 Mar 2011 12:21 PM PST The news just keeps pouring in about Vogue Paris’ April 2011 cover, the first under the tenure of new EIC Emmanuelle Alt. Apparently the lace Dolce & Gabbana dress Gisele sports on Vogue Paris’ cover appears on the February and April covers of two other magazines. Even worse, the two other mags are editions of Vogue: Spain and Germany. We’re not sure who is to blame in this situation, the PR team or the magazine, but if we can draw one solid conclusion, it’s that Emmanuelle’s taste is quite popular. Let’s just hope this doesn’t become another Miu Miu situation. Follow Fashionista on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Posted: 11 Mar 2011 12:09 PM PST Not-So-Glossy-Moss: Apparently the world’s most perfect woman got a little drunky at the YSL party. {NY Post} Social Media Professionals Can Be Mean: Racked NY interviewed Cannon Hodge, the social media manager at Bergdorf Goodman, and the commenters–many of whom are social media professionals–went apeshit. {Racked NY} Follow Fashionista on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |
Posted: 11 Mar 2011 10:45 AM PST One of the main things that separates Gilt Groupe from its competitors is its awesome editorial content. From the blogs to the runway reviews, more and more fashion obsessives are going to Gilt not only to shop, but to be entertained. The flash sales site is taking that idea one step further with Gilt TV, which launches today. The video series, produced in-house, features reports explaining how to wear the trends through the site’s current sales. What’s more, there’s a “shop the video” feature, which we’ve seen from companies like Michael Kors. It’s brilliant marketing–you can literally click on the video and buy what you like. Watch today’s inaugural episode here, featuring Marni, Doo.Ri, and more. Follow Fashionista on Twitter or become a fan on Facebook. |

Target Celebrates Five Years of GO International With Opening Ceremony: Is OC x Target Next? Posted: 11 Mar 2011 09:23 AM PST I’m not a party animal in any sense of that silly little phrase, but I do love a well-planned soiree. Especially when there’s a mix of shopping, “good” celebs, awesome food, and fantastic entertainment. Target accomplished that delicate balance last evening at the Ace Hotel, where the store threw a bash with Opening Ceremony celebrating the fifth anniversary of GO International. Paris Fall 2011: The Best Beauty Looks Posted: 11 Mar 2011 08:00 AM PST While the gossip in Paris this season was loud and distracting, the beauty looks were soft (for the most part). As befits French sensibility, there was effortless hair, dewy makeup, and lots of very wearable looks. But that’s not to say it was boring. Color was used judiciously, and the usual suspects gave us challenging looks. And for the record, the braid and blue eye trends continued throughout the Paris shows. Would You Rather…? The Elle Loves Lambs Edition Posted: 11 Mar 2011 07:47 AM PST April Elles around the world are being taken over by cute little lambs. Penelope Cruz poses with a lamb on ElleJapan’s cover while Amanda Seyfried clutches her lamb inside of Elle US. (Not pictured: Gwen Stefani on the cover of Elle UK, but technically that LAMB is not animal related…). Whose little lamb do you love more, Penelope’s or Amanda’s?
